Mechanic Mortician

Video, holograms, multimedia sculpture

Mechanic Mortician explores how identity and reality blur in the computational age. Fusing video, Pepper’s Ghost holograms, and multimedia sculpture, the project questions how we construct — and distort — ourselves in digital spaces.

Using rotoscope animation, digital composites, and AI aesthetics, these works navigate constructed mindscapes and uncanny environments.

At its core, Mechanic Mortician challenges the ways virtual systems fragment identity, asking what happens when surveillance, AI, and algorithmic biases become part of how we see ourselves.

It’s a cautionary tale and a playful glitch — confronting digital feudalism, algorithmic trickery, and surveillance culture.
